There are sunset chill-outs almost daily hosted at one of the many beachfront hotels or bars. Ladies nights are common around town which is good for the budget female traveler.

After dark, the town bumps reggaeton, rock/funk and all types of music in its plethora of hangouts, bars, diners or restaurants. The party is cut off quite early in comparison to other Latin American countries and even to San Salvador. At 12am on the weekdays and 1am on the weekends to avoid conflicts with early sleepers and early risers that are in town strictly to surf.

There is a great variety of bars and hangout spots all over town.

Live music, guest DJs and infamous IPOD battles are reoccurring.

Getting a bite to eat in one of the many bars is great to relax for a while before calling it a night, or you can stay for the party and dance the night away. Many people from San Salvador come to party in El Tunco on the weekends so there is a noticeable change in atmosphere on Saturday night. Bars and restaurants get remarkably busier and certain bars will charge a cover.
